Aquatics & Fitness Advisory Committee

The Aquatics & Fitness Advisory Committee provides input to Rossmoor Walnut Creek (RWC) on matters related to the community’s fitness and aquatic facilities. The committee works to support a safe, enjoyable, and effective environment for residents, with programs and services that respond to changing needs and interests.

Responsibilities
The committee undertakes the following key responsibilities:

  • Evaluate RWC fitness and aquatic facilities, programs, and equipment to ensure safe and enjoyable use, accounting for both current and anticipated usage levels.
  • Strive a broad mix of programs, services, and equipment tailored to the varied lifestyles of residents.
  • Monitor guest and caregiver usage, and recommend guest-use policies and rules.
  • Assist  Rossmoor clubs and organizations in utilizing fitness and aquatic facilities.
  • Publicize available programs, services, and equipment to encourage participation.
  • Evaluate annual budgets and revenue-generating proposals.
  • Review Rules and Guidelines for facility use; recommend amendments to the Policy Committee as needed.
  • Address user concerns regarding facilities, equipment, or programs.
  • Serve in an advisory capacity for capital improvement projects upon request by the Board.
  • Review facility usage statistics and report findings to the RWC Board.

Meetings
The committee meets on the second Thursday of every other month beginning in January at 1:30 p.m. in the Gateway Administration Board Room. Residents are welcome to attend.


How to Provide Public Comment
Rossmoor Walnut Creek encourages Rossmoor residents to participate in the governance process by submitting public comments at RWC Board and Advisory Committee meetings. Comments may be provided:

    • In person during meetings
    • Via Zoom
    • In writing by email
    • By delivering a hard copy to the RWC Board Office at the Gateway Clubhouse
