Biography:

Jo is originally from the Los Angeles area where she started dancing at the age of 2 and became a professional dancer at the age 11. Jo expanded her dance career by traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Adding singing and acting to her repertoire she performed for many years for dinner theaters in Southern California as well as Civic Light Operas. Making Japan home for 7 years, Jo choreographed and performed for many specialty shows and television stations.  She produced her own shows in Japanese Onsens and 5-star hotels. She also owned her own dance theatre/studio for many years.  Today Jo still owns her own musical theatre company in Benicia called Young People’s Performing Arts.

Jo began her fitness career 25 years ago teaching water aerobics for the Millennium Sports Club where she later became the manager of their Group X, Youth X, tennis and swimming departments. She introduced World Beat to the Millennium Sports Club and later became a licensed Zumba instructor.

Teaching all forms of dance, especially ballet, has helped her overall knowledge and experience to better serve clients. Jo holds certifications in Pilates Mat, Union Pilates, Pilates Reformer (STOTT), Zumba, and Personal Training (from Aerobics Fitness Association of America).

Goals for clients: “I help motivate those I teach and encourage them never to give up. It’s always one step at a time.”
